Because of the Tutoring Karina Has Received, She Has Sharpened-Up Her Studies

Karina is 14 years old and studying in 6th grade. This is her second year in 6th grade because she could not master the entire program. Her parents work grazing cattle in the pastures. During the holidays, Karina always helps them.

Because of the tutoring she has received at the Children of the Street program, Karina has sharpened-up her studies. And now, slowly but surely, she is striving to graduate from school.

Karina attends the feeding and tutoring program every day and enjoys her writing lessons with mentors, especially since she has no one at home to help her with her studies. Her parents did not go to school.

Karina is thankful to Children of the Street mentors and leaders, for the school supplies, shoes, and other necessities the program supplies.

Children of the Street provides a safe environment for the poorest children in the community at the local church in Grigoriopol, Transnistria. Young people in the community know they can go there after school to receive a fresh, hot meal and tutoring. While this program provides practical help meeting necessities like food, the Children of the Street team wants to show these kids the link between faith and life. Program mentors are available to help tutor children in their studies, provide a listening ear, and help give Biblically-based wisdom and guidance for everyday experiences. As a group, they study the Bible daily, sing songs, memorize Bible verses, and enjoy fun activities like sports, crafts, and special outings.
