Stories from the Field

I am truly grateful to Christina and her team at Church Without Walls for organizing meetings for Ukrainian refugees. Their support makes me feel valued and relaxed. The topics we discuss are always meaningful and relevant. These gatherings help take my mind off heavy thoughts and daily routines.

The "Butterflies" meetings, where we paint, are special to me. In these meetings, we discuss our internal transformation as women. Each topic discussed and each painting helps us to see ourselves as different, to imagine our lives "before" and "after" [the trauma of war]. In addition, painting is soothing, helps us focus, and builds patience. After attending the meetings, I feel light, joyful, and inspired.
