Our Mission Partner, Pavel, ministers to coaches and athletes with Fellowship of Christian Athletes throughout Europe. Team huddles, one-on-one relationships, leading studies, and facilitating sports camps are all opportunities to help coaches, athletes, and Ukrainian refugees in their faith journey. Through his ministry, 1000 people heard the Gospel in 2023, with 85% of those people being Ukrainian refugees to Europe. Each one also received a Bible or New Testament. The ministry also provided financial support and food packages for 100 coaches who have influenced thousands of athletes.
Pavel told us that through this ministry, a Ukrainian man who had moved to Germany received Christ and started coaching German kids. The faith of this one coach could now influence many children. Eternal impact is central to Pavel’s work with coaches and athletes.
Pavel is also one of the pastors at the Generations church for Ukrainian refugees in Germany, planted in 2022. Five Ukrainian refugees attending the church were baptized in 2023. There are now two other men from the church plant who have started small groups in other parts of Germany with the hopes of them becoming future churches.
