Finding Encouragement and Support at Help the Children International

Hello! My name is Karina. I live with my grandmother. She has been taking care of me since I lost my parents.

I am studying at a medical college to become a laboratory assistant in diagnostics. It is my second year of studying.

I also attend classes and events at the Help the Children International mentoring program. I really like going. We do crafts together, have cooking classes, and training on various topics. We also go to Adventure Camps together, ride bikes, and much more. At the program, I learned to sew. It's very exciting!

We make a lot of good memories together. I especially enjoy it when we ride bicycles. I also remember when we went to an animal shelter and helped paint doghouses. It's great to care about someone else.

The staff at HTCI encourages me to believe in myself and my strength and they help financially with clothes, food, and household goods.

I am very glad that I am part of the mentoring program at Help the Children International, and I'm grateful to everyone for their support.

Summit Missions International has actively invested in the work of Help the Children International since it was founded in 2006. Our short-term teams have assisted with humanitarian and educational products, construction, and repair services on homes of families at risk, and educational and recreational opportunities for HTCI children and teens.
